The overall objective of this study is to understand the regulatory barriers in product innovation and of innovative products; and the following reformulation of the study objectives is proposed: a) To identify the regulatory barriers faced by the financial service providers during different stages of innovations. b) To identify the factors that discourages the regulators to promote innovations. c) To draw lessons for promoting some specific innovative financial products and delivery channels upon reviewing global best regulatory practices. d) To recommend regulatory and policy options (to the regulators) to promote innovation on some specific financial products.
