It is commonly acknowledged that Bangladesh economy is currently passing through critical times. An informed discussion of the various issues is critical for an objective assessment and to build consensus. With a view to initiate the process, ERG organized an in-house meeting of its members, fellows and associates on 30th March 2008. Several exchanges amongst the participants followed the meeting through email exchanges. We felt that these exchanges should continue and need to be shared with wider audience. Moreover, the ERG management felt the need to open the discussion board to others interested in the subject.

Anyone interested to post comment should first register, and the first step to do so is by clicking on 'Register for Contribution' in the right column.

It needs mentioning that the exchanges through this discussion board will confine to sharing of statistics citing the sources and hypotheses or inferences based on economic analysis. Since the views posted are strictly of individuals, their identities will be revealed.
