economic justice in society. ERG seeks to bridge the gap between
academic research and policy analysis within the context of
Bangladesh and other countries of South and Southeast Asia.

Announcement
ERG signs two separate contracts - with the
World Bank for a study on edible oil and with JICA for a study to
estimate parameters to value statistical life.
Dr. M Helal Uddin is the Principal
Investigator.
ERG Governing Body chooses a new Executive
Director
Dr. M Helal Uddin replaces Professor Enamul
Haque as the Executive Director. Professor Haque sought release on
account of increased demands from other commitments.
Contract signed with WFP for a mapping and assessment exercise on
Food Security and Nutrition Projects
The study is under way and is expected to be completed by end
February 2013. The first meeting of the Technical Review Committee
will be held on 15th November 2012.
IGC Bangladesh Growth Research Program
at ERG
hosted a day-long workshop on Growth and
Development Issues on 20 December 2011.
